About Us
Uniquely positioned in the heart of the Middle East, East-West Initiatives was founded in 2007 to create opportunities for cross-cultural interaction and friendship between ordinary people.
EWI is now primarily led by Jordanian youth who have come through our programs, shown excellent potential, and are now driving the project forwards.
Our Objectives
- To build cross-cultural and inter-faith relationships that lead to friendship and trust, and that break down misconceptions and fear.
- To raise awareness in the West of Arab life, culture and belief and vice versa.
- To invest in young people – equipping the leaders of tomorrow with leadership skills, a global perspective and cross-cultural proficiency.
- To promote Jordan and the opportunities that exists here for cultural-exchange, peacemaking, tourism and business.
Our Strategy
We believe that the way we understand and relate to others will be significantly impacted by:

Therefore our programs aim to facilitate all of the above, and not merely dialogue, debate or knowledge-sharing.
