Bethel University Visit, Jan 2012

This January, Jordan will have the pleasure of hosting 24 students from Bethel University. EWI Jordan members, we need your help!

Jordanian Youth in Austin, July 2011

 

Introduction: A group of 8 young Jordanians ages (14-17) visited Austin, Texas for a Relational-Leadership101 workshop. They stayed with host families, met and interacted with American youth, visited many sites, and took formal training in Relational and Leadership Skills.

East-West Youth Forum, June 2011

Amman, Jordan  

On June 16th, 2011 fifty young people from around the world came together in Jordan, with the simple goal of building friendships across cultural and religious barriers. Students came from the U.S.A, Jordan, the U.K, Uganda, Australia, and Canada to attend the forum, and they spent time listening to each other’s stories, having an adventure together, visiting historical and religious sites, and discussing issues that matter to them. They were 5 intensive days that challenged and changed everyone involved.   

Young Bridge Builders, U.K Trip - April 2011

 

In April 2011 East West Initiatives partnered with Bridges for Communities to take 5 Jordanian students over to the UK for 10 days. They visited London, Bristol and Nottingham, living with host families, learning from leaders in different fields and sharing meaningful discussions with young British Christians about life, culture and faith.

National Student Leadership Forum, Washington, D.C.

This year two EWI students were nominated to participate in the 2010 National Student Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C.

Young Bridge Builders, UK - July 2010

In July 2010 East West Initiatives partnered with Bridges for Communities in the UK to take 6 Jordanian students over to the UK.

Work Life Skills Training

From February to May 2010, EWI organised a training course to help university students get ready for the work place. The course was a great success, with many participants saying how it had impacted them.

National Prayer Breakfast 2010

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual gathering in Washington D.C which draws 3,500 people from all over the world. During this event, the President of the United States, representatives from more than 120 nations, leaders from all areas of the U.S. government, and individuals from various walks of life come together. Among those attending this year were 3 young people from Jordan.

The Youth Leadership Experience, July 2009

14 students were selected to visit Nottingham, Phoenix & Seattle, to stay with host families, develop their leadership skills, and represent their country in cross-cultural and inter-faith discussions.

Young Leaders Training, 2008-09

Based on the book by Stephen Covey, this training course was built around seven three-hour training events.

Student Leadership University, 2007 & 2008

For two summers running, EWI sent around 20 Jordanian students to attend Leadership Forums in the United States. The young people, aged 14-18, attended events hosted by the Student Leadership University, and returned with many stories of profound experiences, new friendships, and new skills acquired. The events acted as a catalyst for inspiring these young people to make a difference in their own society when they returned to Jordan.
